Butter cookies are soft, crumbly and just melt inside your mouth releasing buttery flavour. They are a big hit at my place, and everyone goes gaga over them. I am posting the recipe so that you can make it, and enjoy every bit of these sweet devils ❤
2 cups Unsalted butter, at room temperature (Take it out of the refrigerator half an hour before using it)
3 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1 Tablespoon of Elaichi (Cardamom) Powder
~Preheat oven to 300°F.
~Take the butter in a bowl.
~Beat the butter with the help of an electric beater until butter turns light and creamy in texture.
~Now, add in the sugar and continue beating until the sugar is completely incorporated in the butter.
~Sieve together flour, elaichi powder and cornstarch in a separate bowl. Add this mix into the butter and sugar mixture. Add gradually and keep beating until whole of the flour mixture is combined.
Note- If you want to give colour to your cookies, you can add the colour along with the flour.
~Place ball of cookie dough on baking tray lined with parchment paper. Press down the ball with a fork. You can also use cookie cutter to give your cookies any shape.
Note – Leave some space between cookies allowing room for them to expand.
~Bake in preheated oven 20 to 25 minutes or until bottoms are lightly golden.
~Remove cookies from baking sheet and cool on wire racks before eating.
